La marcia per la pace
Perugia-Assisi si trasferisce a Gerusalemme.
Luisa Morgantini parteciperà
alla missione di pace per il MO accompagnando gruppi della società civile nei
villaggi della resistenza non-violenta di Palestinesi, Israeliani e
Internazionali

Si svolgerà da oggi al prossimo 17 ottobre a Gerusalemme, in
Israele e nel Territorio Palestinese Occupato la tradizionale marcia per la
pace Perugia-Assisi, quest’anno denominata "Time for Responsibilities”.
Organizzata dal Coordinamento Nazionale degli Enti Locali
per la Pace e i
Diritti Umani, la
Piattaforma delle Ong italiane per il Medio Oriente e la Tavola della pace, si
tratta di una delle più grandi Missioni Italiane di Pace in Medio Oriente, dopo
quella di Time for Peace alla fine de 1990 e di Action for Peace nel 2002, a cui hanno aderito
oltre 400 italiani tra semplici cittadini, giovani, studenti e insegnanti,
sportivi, artisti, giornalisti, amministratori locali e rappresentanti di
associazioni, che seguiranno un programma fitto di incontri con rappresentanti
della società civile israeliana e palestinese e si muoveranno sul territorio
divisi in gruppi.
Luisa Morgantini dell'Associazione per la Pace e già Vice Presidente
del Parlamento Europeo parteciperà alla missione e accompagnerà i gruppi
nei villaggi di Bil’in, Nil’in e Masara dove Palestinesi, Israeliani e
Internazionali sono uniti nella resistenza popolare non violenta contro muro e
occupazione.
Domenica 11 ottobre, Luisa Morgantini e parte della missione
saranno ad Abud – villaggio noto per i frequenti attacchi da parte dei coloni
israeliani ai danni dei contadini palestinesi durante la raccolta delle olive-
alla presenza anche del Premier Palestinese Salam Fayyad e di diplomatici
internazionali.
Giovedì 15 ottobre a Gerusalemme si svolgerà il grande
evento ‘Ricostruiamo la speranza’, una manifestazione-incontro per la pace con
i familiari delle vittime palestinesi e israeliane del Parents Circle,
associazione che riunisce centinaia di famiglie colpite dal lutto ma che da
anni si adoperano per la distruzione della figura del nemico e della vendetta.
"Time for
Responsibilities" è la diplomazia dei popoli che si assumono la
responsabilità di agire in prima persona per la giustizia e la pace ma anche un
modo per far conoscere la realtà quotidiana dell’occupazione. Non potremo
recarci a Gaza, ma il nostro totale sostegno va alla popolazione
diella Striscia ancora sotto assedio ed il nostro impegno per la fine dell'embargo e
il ristabilimento della legalità internazionale con la fine dell'occupazione
militare e l'assunzione del rapporto Goldstone da parte del Consiglio di
Sicurezza dell' ONU.
"Time for
responsabilities" è per ognuno di noi e per i governi del mondo” ha dichiarato Luisa Morgantini, che
parteciperà inoltre, insieme a Palestinesi, Israeliani, rappresentanti
diplomatici europei e statunitensi ad una conferenza sul ruolo e le
responsabilità dell’Europa per una pace giusta in Medio Oriente e per la fine
dell’occupazione militare.

The march for peace Perugia-Assisi moves to Jerusalem.
Luisa
Morgantini will participate to the Peace mission in Middle East accompanying groups
of civil society through many villages where non-violent resistance is actuated
jointly by Palestinians, Israelis and Internationals.

The
traditional March for Peace Perugia-Assisi, called this year "Time for
Responsibilities”, starts today and will take place until the next 17th
October in Jerusalem, in Israel and in the Palestinian Occupied
Territory.
Organised by
the Italian Coordination of Local Authorities for Peace and Human Rights, by
the Italian Platform of NGOs for Middle East and ‘Tavola della pace’, it
represents one of the biggest Peace Mission in Middle East ever realized by
Italy (after the missions of Time for Peace at the end of 1990 and of Action
for Peace in 2002) with more than 400 Italians participants, among simple
citizens, youths, students and teachers, sportsmen and women, artists,
journalists, local administrators and activists from associations, who will
follow a dense program of meetings with representatives of the Israeli and
Palestinian civil society divided into many groups.
Luisa
Morgantini, of the Italian Peace Association (Associazione per la Pace) and former Vice-President
of the European Parliament, will take place to the mission and will accompany groups
in the Palestinian villages of Bil’in, Nil’in and Masara where Palestinians,
Israelis and Internationals since many years are united in a popular
non-violent resistance against the Wall and the occupation.
On Sunday
11th October, Luisa Morgantini and a part of the mission will be in Abud– a
village known for the frequent attacks by the Israeli settlers towards
Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest- in the presence also of the
Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and of International Diplomats.
On Thursday
15th October the big event “Let’s rebuild the hope” will take place in
Jerusalem, a demonstration-meeting for peace with members of the families of
the victims –Palestinians and Israelis- belonging to the Parents Circle, an
organization that joins together hundreds of bereaved families working together
since many years against the idea of the enemy and revenge.
"Time for Responsibilities
is the diplomacy of people who want to assume their responsibility concretely acting
for justice and peace, but it is also a way to make known the daily reality of
the occupation. We can’t move to Gaza, but we strongly express our total
support to people in the Strip who are still under siege and we rebate our
commitment for the end of the embargo and the re-establishment of the
International legality through the end of the Israeli military occupation and
the reception of the Goldstone report by the UN Security Council.

for responsabilities" is for all of us and for governments of the
world” declared
Luisa Morgantini, who will participate together with Palestinians, Israelis and
European and US Diplomats also into a conference regarding the role and the responsibility
of Europe for a just peace in Middle East and for the end of the military
occupation.
