PERSONE DELLA SOCIETA' CIVILE ITALIANA IN PALESTINA E ISRAELE

Dal 17 al 24 luglio, Luisa Morgantini, Ex Vice Presidente del
Parlamento Europeo, accompagnerà una delegazione di 40 persone appartenenti
alla società civile italiana in una visita nei Territori Occupati Palestinesi e
in Israele, organizzata con l'Associazione per la Pace.
La delegazione è composta da uomini e donne, avvocati,
insegnanti, studenti e include alcuni giornalisti.
Lo scopo della delegazione è di conoscere la realtà sul
terreno e di essere parte attiva per una soluzione giusta e pacifica del conflitto
e per la fine dell'occupazione militare. Perciò sarà estremamente importante
raccogliere informazioni dirette riguardo l'attuale situazione in particolare attraverso
la visita a città nei Territori Occupati Palestinesi e in Israele, quali
Gerusalemme, Ramallah, Betlemme, Nablus, Hebron, Haifa, Tel Aviv e Jaffa, ma
anche di campi profughi della Cisgiordania, e vedere l'impatto del muro
illegale costruito dalle Autorità Israeliane sulla vita quotidiana della
popolazione palestinese.
Il programma della delegazione prevede incontri con
organizzazioni per la pace e per i diritti umani delle società civili israeliana
e palestinese, con rappresentanti dell'Autorità Palestinese, con Membri della
Knesset e con rappresentanti dell'UE, dell'OCHA e dell'UNRWA.

DELEGATION OF 40 PEOPLE FROM ITALIAN CIVIL SOCIETY IN PALESTINE AND ISRAEL

From 17th-
24th July, Luisa Morgantini, Former Vice President of the European
Parliament, will accompany a delegation of 40 people belonging to the
Italian civil society in a visit to the Palestinian
Occupied Territory
and in Israel,
organized with the Italian peace association "Associazione per la Pace".
The
delegation is composed by men and women, lawyers, teachers, students and
includes journalists.
The aim of
the delegation is to know the reality on the ground and to be active for a
peaceful and just solution and for the end of the military occupation. For
this it will be extremely important to achieve direct information about the
ongoing situation especially through the visit of towns in the Palestinian
Occupied Territories and in Israel, such as Jerusalem, Ramallah, Bethlehem,
Nablus, Hebron, Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jaffa, as well as of refugees camps in the
West Bank, and to see the impact of the illegal wall built by the Israeli
authorities on the daily life of the Palestinian population.
The
programme of the delegation foresees meetings with peace and human rights
organizations from Israeli and Palestinian civil societies, with
Representatives of the Palestinian Authority, with Members of the Knesset and
with EU, OCHA and UNRWA's Representatives.
