A call to the International Community to stop the illegal Israeli policy of deportation of Palestinian citizens from East Jerusalem. The Israeli Minister of Interior decided to revoke Jerusalem citizenship of three Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) MPs – Sheikh Mohammed Abu Tair, Mohammad Totah and Ahmed Attoun – as well as Kahlid Abu Arafa, former minister in the tenth Palestinian government. In these last days the police brought to them the order to leave Jerusalem within the 3 of July 2010. The motivation given to justify their deportation is that having been elected in the PLC and to be member of government are not loyal to the State of Israel. This motivation - beside being blatantly against the international legality, which consider East Jerusalem part of the Occupied Palestinian Territories and does not recognize the Israeli annexation of Jerusalem - it is also contradictory with the agreement signed by Israel on the election of PLC members in Jerusalem. Once more Israeli authority violate Palestinians basic human rights, in a wider context which show the Israeli politics become every day more aggressive against the presence of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem. The increase of settlement activities, houses demolition, deportation and confiscation of Identity card continue in the East side of the city, as well as the ejection of Palestinian families from their own houses in Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan neighbourhood. According to the data provided by the Israeli Interior Ministry, only in 2008 4,577 citizenships were revoked to Palestinian Jerusalemites, and theJerusalem Municipality ratifies a plan to demolish and confiscate several Palestinian houses in al-Bustan Quarter in Silwan, and has started the work to build 600 new settlement units in Beit Hanina-Shu’fat area. All the people who believes in human rights and who respect international legality should stand up and call the International Community, Parliaments, Governments and the European Union not only to condemn but to take serious and concrete measures in order to stop the Israeli policy of deportation, to cancel the expulsion from Jerusalem of the three PLC Members and the former ministry, to stop the confiscation of Identity card for Palestinian Jerusalemites and any settlement activity.
