Al parlamento Europeo l'olio extra vergine della Palestina 

Sarà distribuito in tutte le mense e ristoranti del Parlamento Europeo sia a Bruxelles che a Strasburgo, l'olio d'oliva prodotto nei Territori Occupati Palestinesi e rigorosamente Fair Trade. Da tempo il  PE su iniziativa del gruppo parlamentare GUE/NGL e in collaborazione con organizzazioni del Commercio Equo e Solidale usa prodotti del Fair Trade, ma è la prima volta per un prodotto palestinese.

"Vuole essere anche un gesto simbolico- ha dichiarato Luisa Morgantini, Vice Presidente del Parlamento Europeo e promotrice dell'iniziativa-  ma sarà nello stesso tempo  un sostegno importante alle cooperative di contadine e contadini palestinesi che continuano a coltivare, ad amare e a difendere le proprie terre  minacciate ed espropriate dalla violenza dell'occupazione militare israeliana, dal muro d'annessione coloniale che avanza sradicando alberi, demolendo case e sottraendo terra coltivata ai contadini. D'ora in avanti pranzare alla mensa o nel ristorante del Parlamento UE sarà per me e per molti altri un'emozione ed un gesto di solidarietà, nel vedere  l'etichetta della Palestina su un prodotto che per la sua bontà  è un inno al gusto e al commercio equo solidale".

PALESTINIAN EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL INTO THE EU PARLIAMENT

It will be distributed in all tables and restaurants of the European Parliament in Brussels and in Strasbourg, the olive oil produced in the Palestinian Occupied Territories and rigorously Fair Trade. Since long time, the EP utilizes Fair Trade products, thanks to the initiative by the GUE/NGL Parliamentary group and in collaboration with the Fair Trade organizations, but it is the first time for a Palestinian product.

"It aims to be also a symbolic act - declared Luisa Morgantini, Vice President of the European Parliament and promoter of the initiative- but it will also be an important support to the Palestinian farmers' cooperatives, women and men who continue to cultivate, to love and to defend their lands threatened and expropriated by the violence perpetrated by the Israeli military occupation, by the colonial annexation wall that goes on uprooting trees, demolishing houses and steeling the cultivated lands to the farmers. From now on eating in the tables or in the restaurant of the EP will be for me and for many others an emotion and also a solidarity act by seeing the Palestinian Label over this product that because of its precious flavour represents an hymn to the taste and to the fair trade".
